Downloads

Downloads (sidebar, next to Projects) is where signed-in users get the desktop builds and plugins. It isn’t project-scoped — any signed-in account can download.

Each product gets a card showing the latest release: version with a channel badge (beta or stable), publish date, file size, platform, and release notes, plus a Download button. A collapsed Previous versions list underneath holds older builds.

Download links are minted per click — the button always hands you a fresh, short-lived link to the stored build (or redirects to an external release asset).

Helm Cues (macOS):

  1. Open the .dmg and drag Helm Cues to Applications.
  2. First launch: right-click the app → Open (the build is ad-hoc signed).

grandMA3 plugin:

  1. Unzip into ~/MALightingTechnology/gma3_library/datapools/plugins.
  2. In MA3: Plugin pool → empty cell → Edit → Import → pick HelmTrackNav.xml.

The same install guidance is shown on each card.

  • beta — current development builds; expect fast iteration and occasional rough edges.
  • stable — held-back builds once a version has settled.

The card always surfaces the newest published release regardless of channel — the badge tells you which you’re getting.

Publishing is admin-only, gated by an email allowlist — regular accounts never see the publishing controls. Admins get an Add release form on the Downloads page: pick the product, version, platform, and channel, add release notes, then either upload the artefact directly (it goes straight to storage) or paste an external URL (e.g. a GitHub release asset). The new release becomes the product’s “latest” immediately; the previous one drops into Previous versions. Admins can also delete a release, which removes the stored build along with it.
